Publishing Projects to Html

Hi

I have been trying out 'publish projects' in org mode. It works perfectly
(following the instructions on Sebastian's tutorial), but I have a very
basic question - The tutorial describes putting

(require 'org-publish)
(setq org-publish-project-alist
      '(

       ;; ... add all the components here (see below)...

      ))

into the *scratch* buffer, followed by C-x C-e two times. Other than
re-entering all the "org-publish-project-alist" info each time I publish to
HTML, where does this code go -

? into my .emacs file
? change it via org menu -> customize -> customize -> Org Publishing -> Org
Publish Project alist
? a separate file

On a related note, searching the mailing list on the org main page doesn't
seem to work :

You can keep the org-publish-project-alist settings into .emacs.  It
still goes to .emacs if you change it via customize (unless you
customize custom-file as well.)

I store the (setq org-publish-project-alist ...) variable in a separate
~/elisp/config/org-config.el file which looks like this:

For this file to be loaded by emacs, you need to add its location to the
load-path, and to require the feature it provides:

Problem with Export-exclude-tags and tags:nil

Hi, 

I've already found and corrected the stupid typo, and that didn't fix this 
problem, so it's time to call for help. 

I just downloaded 6.28e last night. I am using GNU Emacs, 22.3.1 on Windows 
XP.

I'm trying to export an org file to LaTeX, and overall it is working ok. 
However, I cannot seem to get the options #+EXPORT_EXCLUDE_TAGS  and 
#+OPTIONS:...tags:nil to work. I've looked around some at org-export-general 
options, and I deleted the only old export setup file I had. I would think that 
options listed in the file would take precedence over those, though. 

Below are a truncated version of my org file and then the LaTeX output 
resulting from C-c C-e l. The section with the tag listed in export-exclude is 
in the output. The tag on that section is not in the output, however. My 
understanding of this setting was that it would prevent the tree from export, 
not just the keyword. The tags on other sections are also in the output, 
though I have tags:nil. 

#+OPTIONS is all on one line in my file.

For the exclude tags option, I tried: 
:noexportlatex: 
:noexportlatex
and what you see below.

I did do C-c C-c in each of the options lines after adding them. 

I also tried without blank line between top options and #LATEX OPTIONS (I also 
could not get export to ignore options marked with begin/end html block.)

Thanks for any help, and for org-mode in general. I voted. :-)

this does work correctly for me, using your test file as it is.

So I would think that you are not using 6.28e but some older version.

What do you get with

    M-x org-version RET

?

Thanks, Carsten.  That was indeed the issue, and it is now working 
perfectly.

Funny, I was looking at the FAQ yesterday, but in the Export section. 
I didn't think to look under Errors because I wasn't getting an error 
to look up. :-)

You are right, this is confusing, I have change the section title to

"Erros and general problems"
