I am trying to set up remember with org-mode using instructions
provided in the manual. But the (org-remember-insinuate) line results
in the following error.

********
An error has occurred while loading `/home/vikas/.emacs':

Symbol's function definition is void: org-remember-insinuate

To ensure normal operation, you should investigate the cause
of the error in your initialization file and remove it. Start
Emacs with the `--debug-init' option to view a complete error
backtrace

********

Could someone kindly explain what is wrong.

FYI, I am using emacs on Ubuntu 7.10.

I can think of two possible causes:

1. You are using the version of Org-mode that is shipped with Emacs 22,
(4.67c or something like that) but you are reading the manual of
version 5.17 online. `org-remember-insinuate' did not exist in
4.67.

2. You have not installed Org-mode correctly, for example you downloaded
5.17 from the web but you do not have

    (require 'org-install) in .emacs

Sorry not any direct help, but remember works fine on my Ubuntu 7.10
here. As Carsten suggests it's probably a version/config problem.

If you want, you can use the version of org-mode in my repository at
https://launchpad.net/~hexmode/+archive/

I also have a CVS version of a recent XFT-enabled emacs there.
