Thanks to Gabor's code I learned that the new way to get headlines and sections is with "#+OPTIONS: H:2". I had spent far too much time trying to google and through the .el file to figure this out; the command mentioned at http://orgmode.org/worg/exporters/beamer/tutorial.html is "#+BEAMER_FRAME_LEVEL: 2" which seems to be no longer supported. My searches at other sites were no more helpful. So, thank you, Gabor! And, whoever maintains documentation on the excellent Org-Beamer export, please update that. Thanks!

Sorry for delay in responding to this. I've been out of commission for
a while (long story) and I am now catching up on the org mailing list
finally.

This particular tutorial was for org v7.x and is not valid for the "new"
exporter (not so new any more :-).

The new exporter has its own very nicely written tutorial at:

http://orgmode.org/worg/exporters/beamer/ox-beamer.html

I have (hopefully) pushed a change to Worg so that the org-tutorials
page points to both the old and the new tutorials.
