Lists depend entirely on indentation.

Sidenote:

For long mails and similar texts I use a drawer:


  (setq org-drawers (quote ("PROPERTIES" "CLOCK" "PHONE" "EMAIL"
    "REMAIL" "HIDDEN" "LOGBOOK"))) 

:EMAIL: and :REMAIL: are the ones I use for mails from and to
customers.
