I will chime in to say that I would actually like this. One of my
frequent uses of macros is for acknowledgements in a presentation, where
I use:
#+macro: cite [[$2][@@latex:\vfill\Citation{$1}@@]]
with a typical usage being
{{{cite(EF\, JM\, et al.\, 2021, http:...)}}}
which would benefit from being able to type:
{{{cite;(EF, JM, et al., 2021 ; http:...)}}}
but it's not a killer lack of feature, to be fair.
