Remember to cover the basics, that is, what you expected to happen and
what in fact did happen. You don't know how to make a good report? See

Hello,

I use the ELPA built of orgmode.

M-x customize-variable org-export-html-protect-char-alist RET

gives an error. I guess its custom type definition is illegal:

:type '((repeat (cons (string :tag "Character")
  			(string :tag "HTML equivalent"))))

Emacs : GNU Emacs 23.2.1 (i486-pc-linux-gnu, X toolkit, Xaw3d scroll bars)
of 2010-12-11 on raven, modified by Debian
Package: Org-mode version 7.5
