Mew can handle pop, imap > and local mail very well, also can handle SSL via stunnel. This seems a very good email client. I see one issue though: it does not link to orgmode. From the orgmode manual we can read that only the following email clients do: VM, Wanderlust, MHE, Rmail, Gnus Otherwise, it looks exactly like what I am looking for.
