Or tangle to one directory, and then copy to another;  then there's one 
rule for all of the transitions.


work/%: tangle/%
	@cmp --silent  $< $@ || ( echo "Updating $@" ; cp $< $@ )

I liked Nick's "cmp" invocation; I started out with diff. :)
