What the source forge people were asking for was "logo, or, if you prefer, a screen shot". This sounds to me that they will show it in a logo-like way, first a very small version as a thumbnail, than the full sized version with extra info, likely including a link to the project homepage. It is really not that I think I should be deciding this, but it still seems that a more poster-like shot does fulfil this function better.
