I'm having exactly the same issue after upgrading to 9.0. In my case, the source code block has a name, and it says "Evaluation of th= is shell code-block (name) is disabled", so I guess the missing space issue= happens when the code block does not have name. I'm having exactly the same issue after upgrading to 9.0.
