Hi Eric,

My view is that the removal of '""'s will always be preferable for
gnuplot as it uses what it calls datablocks which are delimited by
blank lines (see, for example,
http://gnuplot.sourceforge.net/docs_4.2/node121.html and
http://gnuplot.sourceforge.net/docs_4.2/node61.html).
