There is this bug report I made recently: http://comments.gmane.org/gmane.emacs.bugs/83721 I would love to have this fixed for Emacs 24.4, not sure I'll have the time given the current undergoing work on Org. But that's part of the problem you encounter. You mean `org-reveal' should depend on the some hardcoded visibility property rather on the user preferences? [this is only one of several examples where there are strange ellipses and strange sparse-tree-like hiding.] === so i am saying a variable that says "i only ever want canonical visibility" would be a great idea. The only way to fix this is to discuss the default value for org-show-* properties (and maybe some others) -- if you have suggestions here with examples on how different defaults would be less confusing, let's discuss this specifically. In the meantime, relevant hooks may be difficult to explore but we fix this by replying to questions here and but adding information in the manual when needed -- doc bug reports and patches are welcome. Or even better, a tutorial exploring all things relating to "visibility and revealing" in Org. -- Bastien From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: Samuel Wales Subject: Re: Navigating from agenda causes incorrect expansion of children Date: Sun, 30 Mar 2014 22:43:31 -0700 Message-ID: References: <5328FC9B.3040205@gmail.com> <87d2hi7bhw.fsf@bzg.ath.cx> <87zjklokks.fsf@bzg.ath.cx> <87k3bpn4m3.fsf@bzg.ath.cx> <87fvmd5opz.fsf@bzg.ath.cx> <87bnx0il9p.fsf@bzg.ath.cx> <87mwgjkxvj.fsf@bzg.ath.cx> <87siqbjeii.fsf@bzg.ath.cx> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=UTF-8 Return-path: Received: from eggs.gnu.org ([2001:4830:134:3::10]:43635) by lists.gnu.org with esmtp (Exim 4.71) (envelope-from ) id 1WUV0Q-0003KX-5x for emacs-orgmode@gnu.org; Mon, 31 Mar 2014 01:43:35 -0400 Received: from Debian-exim by eggs.gnu.org with spam-scanned (Exim 4.71) (envelope-from ) id 1WUV0O-00063W-FO for emacs-orgmode@gnu.org; Mon, 31 Mar 2014 01:43:34 -0400 In-Reply-To: <87siqbjeii.fsf@bzg.ath.cx> List-Id: "General discussions about Org-mode."
