Ok I thought the org-submit-bug takes care of all this. Find it is partly true -- dont see emacs version in my report. So

$ git pull
Already up-to-date.

$ make autoloads
$ make all done

Now I find the crash occurs between
org-export-preprocess-string and org-footnote-normalize
edebug messages attached

However the 'dirty' in may subject line (created by org-submit-bug) makes me suspicious
