Hello Adam,

As Ubuntu and Debian user, I agree with Robert: the install of texlive via
texlive-full is the best solution. Other packages can after be installed in
~/texmf/tex/latex/local/  (idem for ~/texmf/bibtex/ )  and everything
should run smoothly.
