If the exporter kept the table as desribed above, one could still harvest some orgtbl power in the finnishing stage. I would rather prefer if LaTeX tables could be converted to orgmode just like table.el tables. The regex for the linebreak would need to be customizable, as I for one tend to have some aliases in my style files that would otherwise hide it.
