It worked like Achim suggested:

Remove the ELPA package, then install it again _in the same session_ of Emacs.

I removed org through Options - Manage Emacs Packages
and reinstalled it right away in the same manner
and all this in the same session of Emacs.

Now I can export from .org to .tex with the latest version of org (8.1).
