Sorry that I need to correct this, but also as modified by Bastien this
is still the old, obsolete form.  The correct setting would be

'(org-todo-keywords (quote (sequence "TODO" "NOTE" "LATER" "VERIFY"  
"BUG" "|" "DONE")))

No setting of org-todo-interpretation is required.
