I tested the patch with

#+attr_latex:  :literal t
#+begin_verse

 This is just           a test.
      ASF. 
   
#+end_verse

and then with

#+attr_latex:  :literal t
#+begin_verse

 This is just           a test.

      ASF. 
   
#+end_verse

The output is not different, which it should be, AFAIU. Am I missing something?
