Hi, It seems that there is a problem with visual-line-mode and org-mode files that have #+SETUPFILE. To reproduce: 1. start emacs -Q 2. evaluate (global-visual-line-mode) 3. open *any* org-mode file that loads *any* setup file using #+SETUPFILE: After opening the file in a buffer, visual-line-mode stops working despite still being active according to M-x describe-mode. Resetting visual-line-mode by running M-x visual-line-mode twice makes it work again in that buffer. Emacs : GNU Emacs 28.0.50 (build 1, x86_64-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 3.24.13, cairo version 1.16.0) of 2020-08-29 Package: Org mode version 9.3 (release_9.3 @ /usr/local/share/emacs/28.0.50/lisp/org/) Cordially, Caio Henrique

I'm confirming this bug for https://updates.orgmode.org. Thanks, -- Bastien
