Although this can get rather annoying due to
enable-local-variables related popups.


I use something similar to this:

(add-hook 'find-file-hook
          (lambda ()
            (or (member (buffer-file-name)
                        '("/path/to/some/file"
                          "/path/to/other/file"))
                (flyspell-mode 1))))
