I personally cannot compare Gnus and Wanderlust but as a WL user I can confirm that it is at least not slow. For a simple setup just for testing you wouldn't require much configuration: Just put a absolute path to imap mailbox in the .folder file: ,---- | `%' mailbox [`:' username [`/' authenticate-type]][`@' hostname][`:' port][`!'] `---- http://www.gohome.org/wl/doc/wl_19.html#SEC19 And maybe set the variables WL complains about when starting.
