Unfortunately, back then I suggested the name CLOCKS. But the default
clocks drawer name is CLOCK without the S.

So, you can either use "CLOCK" instead of "CLOCKS"

(custom-set-variables
 '(org-clock-into-drawer "CLOCK"))

or as Bernt and Achim already suggested, you can

(add-to-list 'org-drawers "CLOCKS")
