I don't know if it's the same as what you report, but I can see the same be=
haviour also in this file:


* something
aaa =3Deee
* two=3D *iii
ooo* uuu


  Open/close/expand/contract as needed. In my Emacs 23 with latest org I se=
e it wrongly highlighted just after opening it (headings contracted):
  What I see wrong is:
- the =E2=80=9Ecode=E2=80=9C face comprises =3Deee \n* two=3D
- the =E2=80=9Ebold=E2=80=9C face comprises *iii\nooo*
( \n =3D =E2=8F=8E =3D line break ). So both span past the end of the line.=
 This only happens if the next line is consecutive (with no blank lines).
