Sorry, I missed the "T" there in the command.  The whole command is:

printf "%(%F %T)T"

I'm working on setting up the Org mode dev environment.  Will try to 
reproduce in that environment and update.

I tried with this command using the latest Org release.
I am unable to reproduce.
