You can compress pictures taken by your phone. A shrinking of 2 or 4, or more can be obtained with no visible difference= . You can also collect a set of pictures in a single djvu album. The viewer (djview) is able to zoom very fast. Unfortunately neither Djvu nor Jpeg2000 have replaced Jpeg. Emacs is able to display djvu. ------ To create an album, just do that: c44 -percent 40 imgp_001.jpg c44 -percent 40 imgp_002.jpg c44 -percent 40 imgp_003.jpg ... djvm -c album.djvu imgp_001.djvu imgp_002.djvu imgp_003.djvu ... djview album.djvu Le 31/05/2015 12:41, Martin Sch=C3=B6=C3=B6n a =C3=A9crit : > Anyone using djvu? > http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DjVu > http://www.djvu.org/ > > Just curious. > > --=20 > Martin Sch=C3=B6=C3=B6n > > http://hem.bredband.net/b262106/index.html From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: joakim@verona.se Subject: Re: [OT] djvu? OT but I implemented Imagemagick support in Emacs mostly to work with djvu. The primary benefit over alternatives IMHO is that the algorithm is free, as far as I can determine. Image coding is a minefield. -- Joakim Verona
