Has anyone come up with > alternate keystrokes not involving shift that they could share? > Shift keys not working? That, i cannot understand. The only difficulty i've come across is Meta/alt, but thats mapped to escape. So Alt-a is esc-a. If you can ssh into a box, then you can use emacs locally and set up tramp to edit these remote files. Or you could set up X11 forwarding, and, assuming you have a local X server running, you should be able to use it as normal. If your client is windows, you can install Cygwin for a local Xemacs, Emacs and X server, and use putty as the ssh client with X forwarding. > 4.
