The sad part, in a few words, is that OpenOffice still kept the "brand recognition", but is basically unmaintained at this point. Many users (especially in Windows land, the Linus ones seem to know) are still lured by the brand to download and use unmaintained software. It is as if Oracle, by donating OpenOffice to the Apache Software Foundation, wanted to sabotage free office software. But why?
