When I am loading a write-protected file, I am getting a "Note: file is write protected." This note is delivered as a message only, and after that everything proceeds normally. In the buffer I seem to be able to use org-cycle freely even though it is write protected. I think this is because outline-mode uses overlays, not text properties. So I am guessing that it is not org-cycle which causes the error. Can you give me more hints as to what the problem really is? Maybe an example file that hits the error and produces a backtrace? Thanks. - Carsten On Oct 7, 2006, at 21:16, T. V.
