Subject: new latex exporter - emphasise and footnote: feature or bug?
Date: Thu, 25 Oct 2012 12:26:01 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <m1sj92hmpy.fsf@macdroit605e.unil.ch> (raw)

Hello Org mode users, hello Nicolas,

Should it be possible to put a footnote immediately after an
/emphasised/ word, as in the following example?

******** test.org ******************
Hello /girls/[fn:1], how do you do?

* Footnotes

[fn:1] There were no boys in the room...
************************************

For now, the new latex exporter renders it as follows:

***** Relevant passage of test.tex ***********
Hello /girls/\footnote{There were no boys in the room\ldots{}}, how do you do?
*********************************************

And this is problematic: the emphasise around the word girls is exported
literally, without \emph{}. Is this a bug, or should an emphasised word
never be followed by a footnote?

Thanks.

François
