I use (setq org-agenda-filter-preset '("-someday")) to skip tasks with
the tag "someday" in my agenda views. But I think it is only possible
to use tags here. 

Isn't there an equivalent where I can put something like 
"-'START: $TIMESTAMP_IA > <today>'"?
