Glad you like it - I find it somehow confusing because when deleting
characters, for example from the end of the emphasis string,
things depend upon whether you arrived at this position with cursor motions
from the left or from the right.  I don't often hand-edit links, so it
is not a problem there.  But in emphasis text, I get hit by this all the
time.  Which is why the default is to not hide the markers.
