Thanks, Nicolas. ELPA seems to update every seven days and the last update appears to have been on Monday, September 1st. Hopefully, it will be incorporated by 9/08!

I applied it on maint, so it should go to ELPA soon. When applied,
`org-property-re' should be:

"^\$?4:[ ]*\$\$?1::\\(?2:.*?\$:\\)\$?:\\(?3:$\$\\|[ ]+\$?3:.*?\$\\)\$?5:[ ]*\$$"
