Someone on #emacs pointed me towards clone-indirect-buffer, which works for my purposes, but I figured I'd ask here and ask all you experts if this idea is reasonable or crazy-pants. I'd like to be able to create multiple tables on the s= ame rows, like such:

| Group | Name | =C2= =A0 =C2=A0 | Something | Else |
|----------+----------| =C2=A0 = =C2=A0 |-----------------+----- --|
| =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A01 | =C2=A0 =C2=A0 foo | =C2=A0 =C2=A0 | = =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 =C2=A0 Yes | =C2=A0 No |
|----------+= ----------| =C2=A0 =C2=A0 |-----------------+-------|
