I am getting this error when I add the following line to .emacs file:

Warning (initialization): An error occurred while loading
`/Users/<user>/.emacs':

Symbol's value as variable is void: org-directory
To ensure normal operation, you should investigate and remove the
cause of the error in your initialization file.  Start Emacs with
the `--debug-init' option to view a complete error backtrace.

This is the line:

(setq org-default-notes-file (concat org-directory "~/org/note.org"))
     (define-key global-map "\C-cc" 'org-capture)

The directory ~/org and the file note.org exist.

M-x org-version: Org-mode version 7.8.11
M-x emacs-version: GNU Emacs 24.2.1 (x86_64-apple-darwin12.1.0) of 2012-09-06
