If it is simply a matter of changing all references to org-capture from org-remember, I can do that and submit a patch. If it is much more difficult than that, it is beyond my realm of proficiency. I'd rather not set up the same variables for org-remember and org-capture, but that's a relatively quick fix if development has ceased on org-velocity.
