This sounds like a good plan. I think I can convert my latex snippet to pdf using latexit and past it directly in word, which should be a breeze.

Are you using Latex due to the equation support?

I have better luck importing HTML exports into Word, perhaps you can
look into Latex snippet support for just the math and leave the rest
in HTML.
