To follow up on this: What we are doing with this development is not only write an iPhone app. Equally important may be that we are also establishing a protocol for this kind of asymmetric synching, and implement the Emacs side of it. Once that is in place, apps for different platforms can be made, maybe re-using some of Richard's code.
