Why not?  It would be helpful if you could post a minimal example of
what does not work.

not as such but you can do the following:

#+begin_src org
** a plain slide
#+attr_latex: width=[0.8\textwidth]
[[file:figure.png]]
#+end_src

and the figure should be included just fine.
