The LaTeX and HTML backends are complete, although of course it can still be perfected. Recapitulating the necessary information: The new element can be nested and supports other elements such as links, macros, emphasis marks, etc. The basic syntax: =E2=94=8C=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=82 &foo{lorem ipsum dolor} =E2=94=94=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 produces in LaTeX: =E2=94=8C=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=82 \foo{lorem ipsum dolor} =E2=94=94=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 and in HTML: =E2=94=8C=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=82 lorem ipsum dolor =E2=94=94=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 There is also an anonymous variant: =E2=94=8C=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=82 &_{lorem ipsum dolor} =E2=94=94=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 Optional attributes in square brackets are supported. There are a series of 'universal' attributes, common to each backend. At the moment: `:lang', `:color' and `:smallcaps'. Example: =E2=94=8C=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=82 &foo[:color red :smallcaps t :lang it]{lorem ipsum dolor} =E2=94=94=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 Specific to the LaTeX backend we have the `:prelatex' and `:postlatex' attributes (which introduce arbitrary code before and after the content) and `:latex-command', which overrides the exported command. `:latex-command nocommand' does not export a command flag. Examples: =E2=94=8C=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=82 &foo[:prelatex [bar] :postlatex {baz} :lang it :latex-command bla= h]{lorem ipsum dolor} =E2=94=94=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =3D=3D> =E2=94=8C=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=82 \foreignlanguage{italian}{\blah[bar]{lorem ipsum dolor}{baz}} =E2=94=94=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=8C=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=82 &_[:prelatex \foo{bar} :color red]{lorem ipsum dolor} =E2=94=94=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =3D=3D> =E2=94=8C=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=82 {\color{red}\foo{bar}lorem ipsum dolor} =E2=94=94=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 Likewise, for HTML we have the `:html-tag' and `:html-class' attributes (which override the tags and the class name) and another one, more generic, `:html', which introduces arbitrary code, such as `style=3D"..."'. We can group lists of attributes as aliases. The syntax waould be: =E2=94=8C=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=82 &alias!{text} =E2=94=94=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 and we can also combine aliases with more single attributes: =E2=94=8C=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=82 &alias![more-attributes]{text} =E2=94=94=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 An example: let's imagine that we want a specific block for short quotes in Latin and italics (it is normative in some typographical traditions that quotes in classical Latin are put in italics instead of quotation marks): =E2=94=8C=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=82 #+options: inline-special-block-aliases:(("latin" :lang "la" :lat= ex-command "textit" :html-tag "em")) =E2=94=82=20 =E2=94=82 Caesar's famous quote: &latin!{Alea iacta est} =E2=94=82=20 =E2=94=82 Caesar's famous quote: &latin![:smallcaps t :color blue]{Alea iac= ta est} =E2=94=94=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =3D=3D> LaTeX: =E2=94=8C=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=82 Caesar's famous quote: \foreignlanguage{latin}{\textit{Alea iacta= est}} =E2=94=82=20 =E2=94=82 Caesar's famous quote: {\scshape{}\color{blue}\foreignlanguage{la= tin}{\textit{Alea iacta est}}} =E2=94=94=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =3D=3D HTML: =E2=94=8C=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 =E2=94=82 Caesar's famous quote: Alea iacta= est =E2=94=82=20 =E2=94=82 Caesar's famous quote: Alea iacta est =E2=94=94=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80=E2=94=80 Best regards, Juan Manuel=20 --=20 Juan Manuel Mac=C3=ADas -- Composici=C3=B3n tipogr=C3=A1fica, tratamiento d= e datos, dise=C3=B1o editorial y ortotipograf=C3=ADa
