This is my attempt to add export of latex code (for HTML export)
via svg, rather than png. I don't know if this is the best way to go
about doing it, but I wanted to avoid as much duplicated code as possible.

Tom,

sorry nobody has taken this up so far.

In my own case, although I used to use the latex code -> png feature
often in the early days, I now never export latex code to html,
preferring to simply export to PDF and provide a link to that. So I
don't even have any useful test cases to play with.

By the way, I'm a UoA alumnus (BSc Applied Math and MSc Comp Sci). Say
hello to my alma mater for me please!

It is on patchwork, so it won't get lost:

   http://patchwork.newartisans.com/project/org-mode/list/

It's just that none of the usual suspects has found the time to take a
look at it yet, so it's still marked as "New" - patience!

Do you have FSF papers?

May be you should write a ChangeLog entry as well so that reviewer is
encouraged to look at the patch.

Also look at http://orgmode.org/worg/org-contribute.html#devs

As Jambunathan said, you would need to sign FSF papers for this patch to
be applied. And time passed, so the patch does not apply anymore. If
you have time to work on this, that would be great.

Thanks,

Please let us know about your progress on this feature and on the
question whether you want to assign your copyright to FSF for big
contributions to Emacs.

Thanks,
