Which you incidentally=20 asked about. Would you use more than one type of footnotes in a=20 single document? Perhaps one could define footnote types, e.g. we now have [fn:N]=20 pointing to a footnote. [xx:] could point to a note of type XX.=20 Of course what does this mean outside of LaTeX? Perhaps an=20 explicit margin note would be more feasible. I don=E2=80=99t know if this= =20 is general interest though...
