That will tell you if the performance degradation you see is caused (at least in part) by those low-level operations. I've had two incidents the past year where some group policy changes done by IT would result in a file-open time of close to two seconds (no joke). Now imagine what happens when you need to open some 10k files… As to how Org implements its agenda operations: I don't know and I don't have a comment.
