Hello,
I have the following customisation for LaTeX export in org:
(add-to-list 'org-latex-packages-alist '("version=3", "mhchem"))
I updated org yesterday (and again today) and now I cannot export to
LaTeX without error. The above line results in the following LaTeX
preamble line:
\usepackage[version=3]{(, mhchem)}
which should actually be
\usepackage[version=3]{mhchem}
I will try to track this down to a particular commit later.

Do you actually have the comma in your init.el? If so that's the issue.
Otherwise, nothing looks suspicious in the log and I can't reproduce the
issue with the current head.

it is indeed the issue. Very embarrassing: I use org for my emacs
customisation but generate the .el file by tangling. I fixed this a
while ago in the .el and not in the org file and only just regenerated
the .el. Sigh.
