I often find myself doing an arbitrary sequence of M-up, M-left, M-up, M-right, M-up, with one or more instances of each of these actions as required, all to move past a higher level heading /barrier/. but I can't say I'm all that bothered, especially if there is a Good Reason why this is not possible! eric
