Hi all,

I'm trying to update to org-4.66, but I get a weird error when trying to
byte-compile org.el:

,----
| $ emacs --batch -f batch-byte-compile --no-site-file --no-init-file org.el
|
| In toplevel form:
| org.el:72:13:Error: Wrong type argument: integer-or-marker-p, "räksmörgås
| "
`----

The error seems to be in the (require 'calendar) line in the first
eval-when-compile in org.el. I grepped org's and emacs' sources, but I
cannot find the string "räksmörgås"...

Does anyone have a clue where this error comes from?

Bye,
Tassilo

After updating my 2 days old emacs 22.0.93.1 to 22.0.94.1 the problem is
gone. Nevertheless I'm still interested in an explanation.

Bye,
Tassilo, who supposes räksmörgås is the norse god of wrong type argument
         errors ;-)

In case noone else has told you, "räksmörgås" is Swedish and means
approximately "shrimp sandwich". Its main use in computing is as a
test word, as it's a single word containing all three of the non-ascii
letters in the Swedish alphabet. Useful for testing charset issues.

(Norwegians like me often use the word "blåbærsyltetøy" (blueberry
jam) for the same purpose.)

Wow, now I'd like to have a räksmörgås with some blåbærsyltetøy.

Regards, Tassilo, who tries finding a tasty German word with all
non-ascii chars. "Gülle-Käse-Öl-Soße" is probably not that tasty...

You can buy some here, I think

 http://www.truestyleshop.de/product_info.php/cPath/405_206_263/products_id/2442

but I can't figure out what it is ([something] sweet oil?). Anyone care to
explain these words to us non-German speakers?

Although being a native German I never had heard the word "Mädesüßöl"
before... After a look into a dictionary it is this:

"Mädesüß" is a plant, a kind of a rose.

"Öl" is oil.

Both packed together into a German "Nominalkompositum", which is a
nominal compound. Great fun fornonnativespeakersofGerman.

So it's simply a kind of rose oil. Don't know if that one tastes sweet.

Schöne Grüße,

Uwe

i confess, it really isnt a very commonly used word in german.
but looking for the *shortest possible* word including all the 4 non-ascii
letters in german i had this idea.

as you may have read in the meantime, mainly the green parts and flowers are
used as an aromatic ingredient in drinks and also in medical appliances for its
medicinal properties.
the oil (german: Öl) is (admittedly) very rarely used in cosmetic products, i
guess due to its anti-inflammatory attributes.
