What about assigning categories?

    * Some person
      :PROPERTIES:
      :CATEGORY: some person
      :END:
    ** Some action to be done
       DEADLINE: <2014-12-08 Mon>

    * Some other person
      :PROPERTIES:
      :CATEGORY: some other person
      :END:
    ** Some action to be done
       DEADLINE: <2014-12-08 Mon>
