Summary:
24.0.91; Emacs runtime crashes while exporting with org-latex

1. Start Emacs with -Q
2. Open the attached .org file
3. C-c C-e l (l as in latex)
4. See that Emacs crashes

I am using the Windows build downloaded from alpha.gnu.org.

I don't know how to attach debugger to the Emacs build.

If no one is able to reproduce the crash, I can try attaching a
debugger.

ps: The crash can be seen with git version of orgmode as well and
manifests itself even during html export.

In GNU Emacs 24.0.91.1 (i386-mingw-nt5.1.2600)
 of 2011-11-15 on MARVIN

Confirmed, both on MS-Windows and on GNU/Linux. Here's the backtrace
from the current trunk tip (revno 106407) built on MS-Windows:

  (gdb)

But INTERVAL_PARENT wants up_obj to be zero:

  #define INTERVAL_PARENT(i) \
     (eassert ((i) != 0 && (i)->up_obj == 0),(i)->up.interval)

I cannot reproduce it on development version of Org mode (nor in stable
version), GNU Emacs 24.0.91.1 (x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version
3.2.1).

Jambunathan, can you debug `org-export-normalize-links' before Emacs
crashes?

Eli, Thanks for the clue and Stefan, thanks for the fix meanwhile. The
minimal snippet that captures the root cause follows down below.
