For me

(setq calendar-day-name-array ["Sonntag" "Montag" "Dienstag" "Mittwoch"
			       "Donnerstag" "Freitag" "Samstag"]
       calendar-month-name-array ["Januar" "Februar" "Maerz" "April"
"Mai" "Juni" "Juli" "August" "September" "Oktober" "November" "Dezember"])

in .emacs works
