For some reason, setting the comment character causes problems with autofilling, inserting that character in places where it does not belong - his has come up several times here -we even have a FAQ about it. http://orgmode.org/worg/org-faq.php#auto-fill-and-unwanted-comments I'd love to see a solution for this problem, but I do not have one. - Carsten
