Could you please all try to reproduce the problem this way:

1. Create a file test.el with these contents:

(add-to-list 'load-path "~/path/to/org-mode/lisp/") ;; EDIT T= O YOUR NEEDS
(require 'org-install)
(add-to-list 'auto-mode-alist '("\\.org$" . org-mode)) --8<---------------cut here---------------end--------------->8---

2. Start emacs like this:

=A0$ emacs -Q -l ~/path/to/test.el

3. Open some org file and check if the problem still occurs.
